May 2023 | Irvine, CA
It was a warm afternoon in 2023, Diego and I were on a short hike, the air thick with Chaparral and Eucalyptus. I knew I had to bottle this moment because it was so fleeting.
A brief glimpse into the world of perfumery and I was sucked in; ordering Coumarin and Iso E Super, trying to sort out my first formula, Santiago, not realizing what I had gotten myself into.
But we need to go back a little bit first…
June 2024 | Valley Forge, Pa
Growing up in Pennsylvania, Summer was a season of storms; dense humidity, crackling ozone before a lightning strike, and the tangled overgrowth of kudzu.
I used to drive down County Line road with the windows down, feeling the cool tendrils of sticky air creeping out from the uncultivated woods right after the sun set.
July 2025 | Narragansett, RI
Throughout my undergraduate at the University of Rhode Island, I'd spend my days on campus, working as a Tour Guide, and my free time at Narragansett.
My friends and I would get iced coffees at the Pier, climb Hazard Rock, have secret bonfires at Point Judith Light. We'd wander the Newport Cliff Walk before the tourists showed up and well after they left.
After moving to Los Angeles in the fall of 2020, I broke my lease and moved further south to Orange County, where I adopted my cat Frances.
She was only 14 weeks old and would sit on my shoulders while I walked around my apartment. Frankie got socialized quick through wine and charcuterie nights. She even donned a harness once or twice and made it to the beach.
Orange County is where I discovered fragrance could be more than a daydream.
Diego and I are now engaged, we’ve adopted a dog, Forest, who takes up most of our free time. Who knows, he may get a fragrance of his own, much like his big (but smaller) sister.
In writing this, I am amazed at how much growth has occurred for IP in just a few short years. Through multiple jobs, apartments, cross country moves, perfumery has been constant.
There is so much in the works, and I’m glad you’re all here with me to see it through.
Hey, it's me, Brady. I'm the founder and perfumer behind Invisible Places.
I started this whole project to capture the moments I never wanted to forget. The name is inspired by a book from one of my favorite authors, Italo Calvino's Invisible Cities.
I currently work in finance, but hope to continue to cultivate this career in fragrance into something bigger. If you have questions or want to connect, feel free to use the Contact page or send me a DM through Instagram.
